What is it like to come to Compline at Trinity?
Here's what you'll find when you come to Compline
You'll come to Trinity Episcopal Church. There's a map on this page.
You'll come in through one of the doors. The accessible entrance is on the West side of the church, closest to the church parking lot.
You'll enter a quiet and darkened church. Up front, candles will be burning in a bowl. Feel free to light a candle and add it to the light in the darkness.
You'll smell incense in the air. You'll see the altar at the front of the church, which is a sign of the presence of Jesus Christ among us.
You'll sit where you like. You can lie down if you like. Make yourself comfortable, and breathe.
You'll hear a bell ring as the service begins. The choir chants and says all of the words. You don't have to read along. You don't have to sing. You don't have to have it all figured out. You don't have to worry. This is a time of spiritual refreshment, a time between you and God.
The service lasts about 25 minutes. At the end, we depart in silence, or we sit for a while in peace.
